Setting Sail for Narnia

Just seven weeks to go and we're casting off for Narnia...

St Bartholomews Church in the centre of Wilmslow is set to be transformed on Jul 2 & 3rd  into the imaginary world of CS Lewis' Narnia.....

Follow our progress here as we prepare for the Voyage of the Dawn Treader....

  1. The voyage is now well underway.

Sam handed me a big bag of jewels and sequins this morning for the treasure boxes. I also got some very helpful advice on swords - calling all carpenters...

  2. Had a great evening watching the Voyage of the Dawn Treader with the youth group. We think we should have the star woman dressed up all in white and wrapped up in fairy lights. Also Emma suggested having sea blue curtains wafting around in between the picture and the boat.

  3. Found some super gold material at Aberkhans for the dragon's lair/deathwater. Peter has created two sword templates for the 'golden swords' and I'll be seeing those tonight. We also have other volunteers for sword creation! Off to the Guild tonight to pick up the costumes for the play that hasn't been cast or written yet...
